When was the last time I wrote something on here??? So much has happened since, so here is a very quick update.
March 11, 2011- The phone call we have been waiting for finally came! It's a boy!!!! We were matched with an adorable little baby boy. Evan John Eun-wu was born on July 23, 2010. We were super excited and continue to pray for him to come home soon!
May 20, 2011- Evan's paperwork was submitted to the Korean Ministry for approval. This is a MAJOR step in the process. He can't leave the country without this approval. We were told at the time that this approval takes 4-6 weeks. Well, it's been almost 10 weeks and here we are still waiting and praying for this approval to come. The explanation is a long, complicated story of politics and governmental red tape.
July 16, 2011- My baby shower. This was an amazing day filled with family, friends and fun! The theme of the party was a traditional Korean Dol Party. Historically in Korea the infant mortality rate was high and they had very large community celebrations when a baby reached one year of age. So in honor of Evan turning 1, we celebrated his birthday here in America! Here are some pictures from the event:
These napkins started it all off. Not only did the words sum up what this day was all about, but the colors also sparked the decorations for the whole party.
This head table is found at all Dol parties. The cake was done by a woman that works with my sister-in-law. The towers are called Go-im towers. Needless to say they took a lot of time to glue! The cute fruit animals I made. At the end of the party our little cantaloupe creature was missing his nose and eyes. It seems my nephew thought they looked yummy. :)

This was one of my most favorite gifts for Evan. It was made by my friend Amie's mom. The front of the quilt has a block with South Korea and a block with the United States with Michigan in the center. The back side is a whole world map. She did an amazing job and I can't wait for it to go into Evan's crib!
Today- Well summer is quickly passing by. It's almost time to go back to school. We are getting ready for our first camping trip of the summer. We finally decided to go because the wait for our little one has been longer than expected.
